Nurse Job:
The Informatics Nurse job shall act as a liaison between the hospital's
clinical areas and the IT department. This Informatics Nurse job
includes the primary responsibility of determining the needs and
requirements for clinical applications in acute and ambulatory
healthcare settings. The Informatics Nurse will also lead projects
associated with the evaluation, selection, and implementation
of clinical systems (i.e. EMR, PACS, digital imaging, etc.). The
Informatics Nurse will work with staff and physicians to optimize
the usage of clinical systems through education and training,
quality outcomes, and providing support in accordance with organizational
goals.
Informatics
Nurse Job - Coordinator:
This Informatics Nurse job coordinates implementation and education
of new and upgraded Clinical Information Technology (CIT) applications
throughout the healthcare site and acts as the liaison to the
IT clinical applications analysts. The Informatics Nurse provides
specialized technical knowledge and support to management, supervisors
and staff throughout the hospital in order to successfully meet
goals related to the development and effective use of IT in
clinical areas. This Informatics Nurse job has communication
responsibility for other I.S./HIM functions and serves as the
on-site matrixed" supervisor for the staff in those
areas. The Informatics Nurse reports to the Director of Clinical
Systems. The Informatics Nurse MUST HAVES: Mininum 5 years clinical
experience and 3 years of curriculum development. Clinical experience
is required, MD, DO, CRNP, PharmD, RN or other licensure. Bachelors
degree in health science field required, Masters degree
preferred. Leadership, project management, and excellent communication
skills. The Informatics Nurse must have demonstrated ability
to work with nursing, ancillary staff, and physicians. The Informatics
Nurse must have experience in staff development. The Informatics
Nurse must have at least 2 years experience with implementing
Clinical Applications mandatory.
